Hello and welcome to the forum.

In my experience, "fregadero" is the kitchen sink, and "lavabo" is the bathroom sink.

In Mexico, "Lavabo" can be any sink. The "Fregadero" is the sink that has ridges on it specifically for hand-washing clothes (para fregar la ropa) and usually found in a utility/laundry room or on top of a house with a flat roof

El fregadero means " The Kitchen sink. El Lavabo means " The Bathroom sink." Examples: Ejemplos Cerré el grifo de agua del lavabo porque yo ya llava los platos. El lavabo está roto *Note It is ROTO because of LAVABO.
