Spanish Speech Proofread/ mi composición
I was assigned to write a spanish speech over the weekend which talks about a memory from my childhood. I haven't been able to ask my teacher questions because I have been sick for a couple days, so I was hoping that someone could take a quick look at what I've written and give me a few pointers and ideas. It would be much appreciated, thank you very much!
Hóla clase, me llamo Rafael Medina. Cuando era un niño, mi libro favorito era Harry Potter. Leía Harry Potter cada verano y siempre pretendía que iba a la escuela mágico, "Howarts". La autora de la siere Harry Potter, JK Rowling, escribió el primer libro en el año 1997. Cuando leí el libro para el primer vez, fui un momento fantástico. Harry Potter ha dándome muchas recuerdas. El libro se convirtió un grande parte de mi familia. Mis padres se lo leían a mi hermano y yo muchas noches. En el año 2001, la primera película de Harry Potter fui a los teatros. Desde yo tengo muchos sueños sobre matar Voldemort, pelear con Malfoy, y yendo a Brown para que puede casarse con Herminoe. Mi libro favorito es el libro siete: The Deathly Hallows. Yo recibí ests libro cuando estuve en mi campamento de verano con mi hermano y mis amigos mejores. Mi herman me dio el libro antes de los otros niños recibieron lo suyo porque el campamento no dio el correo en el fin de semano, pero mi hermano trabajó allí. Estuvo emocionado y leí el primer capítulo mientras mantener la mano de mi hermano. Cada noche leí con el libro con mis amigos. Cuando el libro terminó estuve muy triste y mi infancia estuvo muerte, como un "horcrux". Luego, comencé leer el libro Twilight, un libro mejor que Harry Potter. Hice una broma. En el mes Noviembre, la película siete estará en los teatros y iré con mis amigos. No puedo esperar.

La autora de la serie Harry Potter (you don't need to say the name again), JK Rowling, escribió el primer libro en el año 1997. Cuando leí el libro por primer vez (if you said "para" it'd mean something like, you had read it for the first time of something else... something really weird) fue (the subject it the moment, 3rd person singular) un momento fantástico. Harry Potter me ha dado (you will never say "ha dándome", that's a mix of different tenses) muchos recuerdos ("el recuerdo", masculine) (however "dar recuerdos" doesn't sound too idiomatic, it's be more common "tener recuerdos": tengo muchos recuerdos de Harry Potter). El libro se convirtió en una gran parte ("la parte" is femenine and when you use "grande" before a noun, you say "gran", both for masculines and femenines) de mi familia. Mis padres se lo leían a mi hermano y yo (this isn't clear... if you meant you also read the book to your brother, say "y yo también"; if you meant your parent read the both for both, for you and your brother, say "nos lo leían a mi hermano y a mí"; and if you meant your parents read the book to your brother and you read the book for yourself, "y yo también lo leía") muchas noches. En el año 2001, fui a ver la primera película de Harry Potter al teatro (in theatres? didn't you go to a cinema, "el cine"?). Desde entonces -- tengo muchos sueños sobre matar a Voldemort, pelear con Malfoy, y yendo a Brown para que puede casarse con Herminone (I can't fully understand this sentence: who's marrying Hermione and where are you going?). Mi libro favorito es el libro siete (it might sound better "el séptimo": The Deathly Hallows *("Las reliquias de la muerte" in Spanish). -- Recibí este libro cuando estuve en el/un (if you say "mi" some people will understand you're the owner) campamento de verano con mi hermano y mis mejores amigos. Mi hermano me dio el libro antes de que ("que" to introduce the full sentense taht follows) los otros niños recibieran (subjuctive because of "que") lo suyo porque el campamento no dio el correo en el fin de semana, pero mi hermano trabajaba ("trabajó" would mean he only worked there that day) allí. Estuve emocionado y leí el primer capítulo mientras mantenía (actually I'd change not just the tense, but the verb too because it sounds more idiomatic "cogía" but I'm not sure about bad connotations that verb may have in other regions) la mano de mi hermano. Cada noche leía -- el libro con mis amigos. Cuando el libro terminó estuve muy triste y mi infancia estuvo muerte (what do you mean by that? was that the end of your childhood? = "murió", "acabó"), como un "horcrux" (horrocrux in Spanish). Luego, comencé a leer el libro Twilight ("Crepúsculo" in Spanish), un libro mejor que Harry Potter. Es broma/Era una broma. En el mes Noviembre, la séptima película estará en los teatros e iré con mis amigos. No puedo esperar.
