How many reputation points are you allowed to get for voting?

Question

I've noticed (and I'm sure others have noticed this, too) that when you go through the questions and answers and vote for your favorite ones, you can vote for as many people as you want, but you don't keep on getting reputation points after a certain extent.

Now, is there a set maximum for receiving points for voting? How often is the block reset? Or, does it just depend on your voting patterns?
