In Mexico it's güero/a. Also a light skinned person is called that.

It may be useful to note that in some Spanish speaking countries, darker skin/hair is so common that they don't differentiate between a person with blonde hair, which to English speakers means someone with yellow/white hair, and a person with brown hair, which to English speakers would not be considered blonde, when using the word "rubio".

That's new to me also, it sounds like maybe a regional indiginous word that's not spanish. - Bob-Dressler

Yes and no. If it's used in a Spanish-speaking country, and it's in the RAE, it's Spanish, isn't it? grin

catire, ra. (De or. cumanagoto). 1. adj. Am. Dicho de una persona: Rubia, en especial con el pelo rojizo y ojos verdosos o amarillentos, por lo común hija de blanco y mulata, o viceversa.

Otra opción, pero solamente en Colombia, es mono y mona. Pilas porque también quiere decir "monkey".
