The translation im looking for is this:

Once the defendant has been released from custody, a bail or fugitive recovery agent will be assigned on this case until the bond is exonerated.

I work for a bails bond company.

Gosh, that's really specific jargon. I don't know if this helps, but I know that someone who collects money that is due by an individual to a company (such as their electric company) is called a "cobrador". - Maureen-Early, Oct 10, 2010

One way I find useful to check what the translator might give me is to run it through google - if you run: agente de recuperación de fugitivos you get around 34,000 hits and there are both spanish and english reference works so it seems pretty on to it smile

Two of the machine translators suggest "cazarrecompensas" for "bounty hunter". Is not your "fugitive recovery agent" similar to calling a "garbageman" a "sanitation engineer"?

I thought about that one, but I think your conclusion is correct. - KevinB, Oct 11, 2010

Hello and welcome to the forum. Generally, the translator would be your first stop for translations from English to Spanish or vice versa. In the future you can go there and then if you're still not sure, post your findings on the forum and you'll get some assistance. The result I received was "agente de recuperación de fugitivos." However, that is just a word for word translation which may not be correct. Do you know specifically what this person does, that may shed some light on a more accurate translation?
