My husband was prescribed a medication called dolo-plexdocil in Guatemala. He said that this is a shot that was given to him. What is the medication for exactly?

I cannot find it on the internet (except where you have posted it), so I cannot comment on what it might actually be. Looking at the composition of the word- dolo probably from dolor for pain (and not dolo), plex probably implying nerve (as in nerve plexus-plexo) and dócil for calm- I would assume it is something being used to calm nerve pain. I would really need the generic or some other clue to determine what it actually is however.

I think plexdocil is a trademark, and it is used everywhere for the same thing.

it`s a Class 05 product according to the Nice international classification of products and services. that is Pharmaceutical, veterinary and sanitary preparations; dietetic substances adapted for medical use, food for babies; plasters, materials for dressings; material for stopping teeth, dental wax; disinfectants; preparations for destroying vermin; fungicides, herbicides.

you can check more information here or, better, ask a doctor.

Well, seeing how this took place over a year ago, I doubt the answer is very relevant now, but good job. - BigMike, Mar 8, 2013
