There's one too many flies in here

Just curious how to say "there's one too many X in here for me to feel comfortable". Is "hay uno demasiado" correct for this construction? Thanks..

This is a very interesting question and all your answers all right. But Jeezzle... always so curious, he wants to express exactly "one too many"

If we were talking about drinking, in Spanish there is a real equivalent:

Last night I drank a lot, I drank too much.

But talking about flies, this sentence "una mosca de más" doesn't make sense. In this case, must be said;

What amount of flies!

I found these for you smile

One too many -> uno de más o de sobra

One wonders if uno de más may be a root phrase leading to the origin of the word demasiado... - webdunce, Oct 9, 2010
Don't wonder, I can tell you: it comes from "de más" -> "demasía" -> "demasiado" - lazarus1907, Oct 9, 2010
And yet, like mountaingirl said, you'd never say "hay una mosca de más" in that context. - bill1111, Oct 9, 2010

Yeah but I want to specifically say "one too many". I was in the bathroom and there were 7 flies. The house is very clean and in fine shape, so it was odd to see flies in there. I thought to myself "7 flies? Well that's one too many" and I chuckled. Do you know what I mean? The joke loses all flavor to just say there's too many. Gracias.
