Sounds like he is calling her "angel baby." When "ita" is added to the end of a word, (ángel + ita = ángelita) it's done to be more endearing or affectionate. Mi hija (my daughter) mi hijita (my daughter but a more endearing way of saying it.)
That's it, but you don't need the accent over the first "a" in "angelita"
I'll bite. Why don't you need the accent mark on the first "a" just because you made it diminuitive? ángel+ita Are you sure you aren't thinking of the name Angelita. And if so, is this a feminine noun ending in "a" and having a stressed beginning "a" so it would be el ángelita like el agua rather than la ángelita?
ángelita (also found under angelita)

Forget all of that. Read this thread that says that the word "ángelita or angelita" does not exist. It only exits in the masculine form "angelito".
Sounds a little slang but a positive complement. Angel baby, its a good thing in my eyes.
