**¡Aquí está el objeto misterioso número 71 - resuelto por yesero!

Esta foto muestra una "parte" de un objeto misterioso de mi vida real.

¿El desafío? - Adivina cuál es el objeto y la función del objeto.

(This photo shows a "part" of a mystery object from my life. The challenge? Guess what the object is and the function of the object.

If you can, post in Spanish and English, and, if clues are needed I will post them "along the way" so keep your eyes "peeled". And a rule for my game friends - you can post "multiple times" of course but please - one guess per post! That gives everyone "present" a chance to have a "stab at it" and makes it easier for me to follow the thread and the answers. Thanks

Sagiia - you were "pipped at the post" by yesero :( - nonombre, Oct 8, 2010
But..cute dog..and a great dog-coat - nonombre, Oct 8, 2010
That's an expression I haven't heard before. - sagiia, Oct 8, 2010
"pipped at the post" means "only just beaten" ..."by a nose" - I think it's probably an old "horse-racing" expression :o - nonombre, Oct 8, 2010
I got it from the context, but it's nice to know the background. Gracias. - sagiia, Oct 9, 2010

The "noseband" on a horses bridle? I don't know the proper name for it.

Brida de caballo. Maybe.

it is called a Shadow Roll, and is used to keep horses from spooking at shadows (if you have a horse that is silly enough to do so...) - Echoline, Oct 8, 2010
I'm curious...how would that little thing keep then from seeing shadows? wouldn't they need blinders? - amykay, Oct 8, 2010
Looked like a winner, F, but A told Sagiia it has nothing to do with horses! - LateToDinner, Oct 8, 2010
I posted before I read it properly. - fontanero, Oct 8, 2010
No, blinders keep them from seeing what's on the side of them....keeps them focused on their work if they are inclined to worry about or go after a horse gaining on them or next to them, or by the crowd. - Echoline, Oct 8, 2010
On the other hand, a Shadow Roll blocks their downward vision, so they don't see the shadows thrown by the rails or other sudden changes from dark to light. Horses often try to jump over these definate lines or stop or shy away from them. - Echoline, Oct 8, 2010
I have never heard of those. I once had to load into a trailer at night a horse that was afraid of shadows. That was a "hot mess". The owner ended up getting her finger twisted into an unnatural shape. - Leeh, Oct 9, 2010

¿Una gorra de borreguillo?

alt text

A sheepskin cap?

I know you already said it is not a "gorro", but from my research I believe "una gorra" is a different type of hat because it has a viser. I thought perhaps putting it in quotes you were giving a clue. ???

P.S. How do you like this hunky guy to go with your hat?
