Rain, you are asking a very broad question. You probably have realized that many of us are native Spanish speaker in different countries. We also have several non-native speakers living in various Hispanic countries who also have picked up a lot of slang. But, how to know precisely what you want or need?

Really the best way to pick up the informal part of a language and slang is to interact with local speakers. You can try watching TV shows in Spanish (our member Jeezle is a specialist in this: he watches tons of programs and movies in Spanish, and then comes to the forum and asks tons of questions to try and learn, and figure out what they mean. You can learn a lot by doing a search for "Jeezle", and looking at his posts.

You can also do what Mountaingirl suggested, specially after you have picked up a few words, and want to know what they mean. There really are sites that specialize in Slang.

And of course, you can listen to your friends, to TV, the radio, whatever; buy comics in Spanish, and pick up words. Then you can post them here and ask if you don't really understand how they're used. But remember that you have to try and tell us what you think they meant first!

And, if you want to use the Forum, you are not allowed to use "groserías" - "dirty" slang.

it also depends on what part of the country you are from...every one has their own coloquialisms (words that mean something specifically to their region/area)

Hi, Rain.

Have you tried a google search? There are tons of possibilities... Mexican slang, Spanish (from Spain) slang, Venezuelan slang, etc. Just don't give your teacher a pop quiz! It's impossible to keep up with all the slang from all the countries...
