A couple small things with hay/estar correctly.
The other day I was on skype and someone asked me where my profile pic was taken, which is me standing in front of the stage during a concert. I answered:
"Fue a un concierto de reggae." But is that really correct? Because if I were referring to that concert to my friends, I would say "Hey there's a concert next week," as in "Hey, hay un concierto la semana que viene." So should I have said "Hubo un concierto de reggae"?
Also, which is the most correct way to ask where something is made? I asked that one time at a souvenir shop and I wasn't sure how to say it because estar is used with locations but things are made somewhere and then it's done, so it it ser? Or simplemente, ¿dónde se hace esto?
Let me work one more thing in here, in reference to the concert picture, would it be correct to say "I was standing right in front of the stage because it was the first time seeing my favorite band" like this "Estaba parada/de pie plenamente en el frente porque fue my primera vez viendo a mi banda favorita."
Thanks!

"Fue en un concierto de reggae." Except for the preposition that I changed, this is perfect.

True, but then again, you are saying different things. "Hay un concierto.." requires "haber", because you are saying that there is a concert. However in your first sentence you wanted to answer the question "where was this taken?". And that answer doesn't have anything to do with "there is", but "it was (taken)".

"¿Dónde se hace esto?" is ok, but if you want to choose between ser/estar, you would pick "estar": "¿dónde está hecho esto?". You couldn't say "¿dónde es hecho esto?", it doesn't sound right.

If you want to say "I was standing" you don't need to say "parado", it is redundant. Also, if you want to translate "right in front of the stage" you have to say things like "justo enfrente del escenario". "Plenamente" means "completely" or "fully", so it doesn't fit. Finally, although "banda" is ok, at least in my country we usually call them "grupo":
"Estaba de pie justo enfrente del escenario, porque era la primera vez que veía a mi grupo favorito".
