whats the difference between los amigos and amigos ?????
i keep getting different translations for ...... friends are for life and family is forever...... need help thankyou

It depends. Spanish is a little different than English when it comes to definite articles. In both English and Spanish the definite article can be used to point out something specific. Los amigos son...the friends (John and Mary whom we have been discussing previously)
However, Spanish also uses the definite article when speaking of a generalized abstract subject. Friends, in general, not referring to any specific individuals also uses the definite article. In your sentence I would use Los amigos son....
Somos amigos.
Fits neither context. We are not pointing to any specific individuals nor or we speaking of friend(ship) in the abstract.
