Por donde mero esta?

A guy (who is mexican) asked me this "Por donde mero esta?" (he didn't use accents) Before, he asked me for my address and I have it to him and then he asked me that question. I am not sure what he is saying. I used the translator and looked up "mero" in the dictionary but I'm still not sure. The google one said , "Where is number?" So, is he asking for directions?

I think in this context mero means precisely... so you can take it that way... "Where exactly is this?"
But I'm not Mexican so, it could mean something different
