Y, creo que su pregunta debe ser escribido así: "¿Cómo se llama esta en inglés?" Pero, no es decir que mi español es perfecto.
In my dictionary llama is a 'flame' or a 'passion'
- the term 'en llamas' means burning or ablaze.
In light of MaureenPeter's comment, I now arrive at the correct interpretation (I think)...
But first, let's look at a statement I made earlier (I've been making some serious goofs lately)...
Hay un fuego con llamas enormes = There is a fire with big llamas...which I don't really understand exactly.
When I clicked on llama, SD's dictionary brought me to the definition of the English word. And, like always, I did not notice the Spanish tab sitting over there (which, had I clicked on it, would have made me think llamas could only be a verb in Spanish. I had to go to a different site to get the definition for the noun llama). Anyway, thus my stupid-sounding sentence.
The answer is:
Hay un fuego con llamas enormes = There is a fire with giant flames.
A llama is a camel.
No sé si entiendo tu pregunta. "llamas" significa "you call" en inglés pero si se usa en la frase "¿Cómo te llamas?" la traducción más natural es "What is your name?".
I don't know if I understand your question. "llamas" means "you call" in English but if you use it in the the sentence "¿Cómo te llamas?" the most natural translation is "What is your name?"
