What is the difference between ayúdame and ayudarme? Like in: "Ayúdame a buscar mis llaves" or "Gracias por ayudarme." Thanks.

Ayúdame is the imperative form - help me

Ayudarme is the infinitive form - to help me

But in Spanish the infinitive form is used when we would use a gerund in English, turning a verb into a noun (ends in -ing in English). Ayudarme can also mean "helping me".

Ayúdame a buscar mis llaves - Help me look for my keys
Gracias por ayudarme - Thank you for helping me

And:

Ayúdame, ask to one person.

Ayudarme, ask to several people

Ex:

Ayúdame (tú) con el correo.

Ayudarme (vosotros) con el correo.

Right. Ayudarme can also be a polite, implied command. - KevinB, Oct 4, 2010
