What does chicago mean in spanish

i heard it from a friend who speaks spanish but she wouldn't tell me.

Could she have said "Chicano", an American born person of Mexican ancestary.

"Eschikagou" is a native american word for smelly waters. The place smelled like wild onions.

A different website told me its a spanish name and i didn't trust it. I don't think it is a Spanish name, but i can tell you that there is a town in California named LOS GATOS and in spanis it means CATS. It is called that because when the place was founded several wildcats roamed the Area!!! ~Liza

Chicago doesn't exist in spanish. Chicago city was named from a Native American word. I can't remember the meaning right now.
