a typo.

Determine, determined ... but not determineded. Sorry.

Spanish: determinada.

I suspect it was hyphenated because it was split between two lines and that may have lead to the inclusion of an extra ed.

The word is 'determined' not deter-minded. It means,in the context of your question, that it is decided on the basis of the law or the decision is made on the basis of the law

I can understand how you might think it was two words especially in view of the part 'minded' but we do not split up this word except to aid pronounciation

de -ter -mined
