I'm curious why it's not "dabas". Kisses, you were giving me your mouth.? Gracias.

It's "daba" because the mouth is the subject: kisses, your mouth was giving me.

"Me dabas tu boca" sounds a much better translation than "me dabas la boca" (maybe because "dar el/la" and a part of the body reminds me of not so romantic things: it reminds me of "dar el pecho", to breast-feed, o "dar la espalda", to turn one's back on someone).

Apart from that, yes, it seems a single s changes the meaning...

While I agree that it sounds better and more romantic I thought the parts of the body use definite articles of el ,los la las rather than possesive adjectives or does poetic licence take precedence of grammatical rules ? I ask out of interest :) - FELIZ77, Oct 3, 2010

Gracias, how would I say "kisses, you were giving me your mouth"? then, I see now that tu boca an extension of daba, but I wonder if I wanted to say "you were giving me your mouth"? Me dabas la boca? Me dabas tu boca? Very confusing, me daba/dabas tu boca mean very different things huh? Gracias.
