In Spanish how would you say the word catalyst, as such a catalyst is a chemical change that occurs when a substance changes something else but it does not change itself.

A catalyst is the chemical, catalysis is the reaction. They are different words in Spanish, too. - KevinB, Oct 3, 2010
I cannot fix the English in that sentence without completely changing it, because the science isn't right either. - Stadt, Oct 3, 2010

Catalizador is the most used.

Edit: I must correct myself, because a catalizador is a susbtance that can increase the speed of a reaction, not a chemical change. So, the word that you are looking for is catálisis.

I am not sure about the correction, as catalyst in english is the substance that increases the speed of a reaction, and catalysis is the name of the process, so I think it is he and not you that is using the wrong word - Stadt, Oct 3, 2010

Welcome to SpanishDict. You can either look it up under the Dictionary tab, or else you can simply double left click over the word as it appears in your question.

lol! I didn't even think of that. My Spanish teacher told us that translation sites are inaccurate(and she had examples) and that we shouldn't trust them! - jolt, Oct 3, 2010
lol! she even had examples! I just want to be sure I can know how to say catalyst in Spanish since catalyst is my favorite word. - jolt, Oct 3, 2010
The automatic translators are notoriously bad, even the ones here. The dictionaries, however, are pretty accurate. - KevinB, Oct 3, 2010
