Female Presidents

Question

Like Argentina it looks like Brazil will have a female president today. Does anyone anticipate any significant impact on the country, countries? What about us here in the states. Could Sarah Palin be this countries first female president?

country's - Echoline, Oct 3, 2010

I hope not. But I am not a citizen of the USA. - ian-hill, Oct 3, 2010

Sarah Palin? I'm still not wanting to believe people take her seriously. I had more faith in people. Nothing to do with her sex, of course. She's just a ridiculous person. - benweck, Oct 3, 2010

I agree - ian-hill, Oct 3, 2010

If that crazy woman ever gets to the presidency of the USA, the last of our worries will be the impact of her gender on the post. - bill1111, Oct 3, 2010

What is even more scary than Sarah in office is the millions that would actually vote her. - MattM, Oct 3, 2010

Not exactly not done before.

And don't forget Margaret Thatcher - although I wish I could.

Wow! Margaret ...that's funny. - MattM, Oct 3, 2010

For a minute there, I thought you had forgotten Maggie ! - fontanero, Oct 3, 2010

Thatcher was not a president but a Prime Minister. If you are going to include prime ministers then you have to include Benazir Bhutto as well, though she only won because of her family, much like Kirchnet. - El_Hitch, Oct 3, 2010

and the Australian Pm and many others. - El_Hitch, Oct 3, 2010

I know but I could not find a list of just PMs - There have been many - I think one of the first was PM of Sri Lanka. - ian-hill, Oct 3, 2010

Answer 2

Personally, I couldn't care less about the person's plumbing. It's their character, political philosophy and ideas that count.

Good post - I second this... - 001a2987, Oct 3, 2010

Not really. the only thing that counts is a persons luck and their ability at lying and selling their own soal. If they dont possess these qualties they will never become president - El_Hitch, Oct 3, 2010

So what you are saying is that you are more for a Monarchy??? - 001a2987, Oct 3, 2010

Answer 3

Women can be as smart as men can be. Besides Argentina and Brazil you forgot to mention Nicaragua, Chile, Phillipines and other countries that I can't remember right now. It doesn' matter if it is a Presidente or Presidenta. It will depend of how good She can be as a leader.

Australian Prime Minister as well. - MattM, Oct 3, 2010

Answer 4

Personally, I think a female president would be pretty interesting with all those sexists out there and such who think women are not equal to men. I think Sarah Palin would be an interesting president because her astrological sign is Aquarius and so was Regan and he was an awesome president.

I put stress on the astrological sign just because the Aquarius sign is the sign of higher learning. Like Oprah Winfrey was an Aquarius and look how giving she is. lol! I'm not really into politics but in America we need a serious change because we don't know what we are doing right now.

Good question

I hear you. Many people would say Obama is not getting it done? - MattM, Oct 3, 2010

In my country Obama is nothing short of God on earth. For this and other reasons i dont like him. But Sarah Palin would ruin your country. Never has anyone been so perfectly unsuitable for the position of responsibilty and power. Nor as stupid. - El_Hitch, Oct 3, 2010

You need Hilary in charge. - kenwilliams, Oct 3, 2010

Answer 5

Absolutely, no doubt about it in my mind! I just do not know why it is taking so long to have a female as the top leader in my country, or in the United States, for that matter. Is it because we are not as advanced as we might like to think?

I love Canada! - MattM, Oct 3, 2010

You love Canada, eh? lol - Brynleigh, Oct 3, 2010
