"These men were handy with tools and knew how to handle a horse" podria ser traducido "estos hombres eran habilidosos con herramietas y sabian como manejar un caballo" o en vez de manejar seria "montar a caballo"? Gracias

To be "handy" with tools means you know how to use them and to "handle" a horse means simply that you can control them or ride them without trouble. I hope this helps!! smile
