Phrasebook - can we make more suggestions?

Question

We have over 5000 phrases - but there must be another 5000 at least.

Can we start making new suggestions?

I hope so Ian I still have a head full of them , they keep bubbling out all the time , maybe I have a head full of verbal bubbles, I left myself open there , I may regret this. - ray76, Oct 3, 2010

Good question, Ian.

Please, we cannot take any more "suggested" for the moment, but if you can provide a phrase in both languages, that is fine.

Before submitted a phrase, however, it is helpful if you do a "search" to see if that phrase is already in...we try to delete duplicates as they come up, but I am sure that we are not catching them all.

The Phrasebook is really a useful tool; thanks to all of you who have made the Phrasebook work!

Personally, I am really enjoying going through the Phrases...

Phrases that have both the English and Spanish are appreciated.

Here's the best method for suggesting a new phrase:

1) Look to see if the phrase has already included. You may need to try a few key words to find the phrase, e.g., father, son, like = like father, like son.

2) Look in a dictionary and on Google to research the Spanish translation of your phrase.

3) Click on "add new entry."

4) Put both your phrase in English AND the phrase in Spanish.

5) Chose a category, e.g., idiom, colloquialism, etc.

6) click the box that confirms that the phrase is not a copyright violation.

7) click on "save" and the moderators will review your entry.

I do have a few suggestions:

"Do not translate from English to Spanish any more!"

"Translating from English into Spanish is a waste of time".

"You'll never learn if you keep translating from Spanish".

If one looks at the suggestions and selects 'add translation', in whose name is the phrase published? The suggester or the person who adds the translation?

Not that I want the glory (especially as I'm sure my efforts are not 100% correct!) but I never know how to tackle it.

Do I use 'añadir traducción' on the 'sugeridas' field or go to the top and 'añadir entrada nueva'?
