Phrase help. "Diverging from that path a bit..."

Question

I've looked through the phrasebook a bit, without much luck. I'm writing another senior paper for a Spanish Lit. class, and am tweaking the introduction.

"Han estado abundantes estudios sobre la obra Rulfiana, primariamente en los areas de punto de vista, espacio, tiempo, y violencia. ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___, Yo quiero analizar desde un punto de vista sociohistorical su coleccio!n de cuentos, “El llano en llamas”. "

I'm not entirely sure how I want to word it in English, so I'm open to suggestions. I'm looking for something along the lines of "Diverging from that line of study a bit", or "changing things up a little,". Though it does need to be all professional.

Se han hecho numerosos estudios sobre la obra Rulfiana, centrados principalmente en aspectos espacio-temporales y en el tema de la violencia. Mi intención, sin embargo, es analizar desde otra perspectiva, -desde un punto de vista social e histórico-, su colección de cuentos “El llano en llamas”.
