Basketball (Rudy Fernandez)

Question

Okay, having just watched the Portland vs. Portland game last night, I wanted to ask a question of the Spanish members. You know you are in a basketball city when they televise a game where your starters play the backups. Anyway for those who care, the backups won (does that mean we should play just as well when the second string is in).

The question is how much was published in Spain about Rudy's ambivalence about coming back, and what is the Spanish take on it, or do you all just not care that much about basketball.

Don't know if this should be under culture instead, as I really am asking about basketball culture in Spain - Stadt, Oct 2, 2010

Answer 1

I'm not a huge fan myself, and it's been some time now since I watched more than a couple games a year. However, basketball remains as one of the most followed sports in Spain, and there's quite a bit of info about spanish NBA players. I pulled this from one of the leading sports magazines in Spain:

Thanks, the gist looks pretty similiar to what they are saying over here, I am fairly new to Spanish, so I need to spend a bit more time on it to ensure I am not missing any nuances (which will be an excellent exercise for me) - Stadt, Oct 2, 2010
