I feel pretty good about myself so far. Started lesson 1.1 on the 28th and am already on lesson 1.6! :D (Mind you it's not a race, I am just glad i'm catching on to things this quickly.)

I love this site and the great people on here to help me, and when I can't learn it online, I listen to a 30 minute lesson on my ipod while in bed on my way to dream land.

¡Estoy muy feliz!

You guys are all so wonderful for helping me out.

Gracias! Gracias! Gracias!

Welcome to the SpanishDict forum Tormenta grin

We are very pleased to hear that you are making such good progress ......it is great news ! grin However, as you rightly say it is not a race although, admittedly, it is hard not to compare your progress to others. The important thing to remember, in my view ,is that progress should really be measured by how much you understand and can apply on a regular basis as you practise Spanish (qualitative) not the pace at which you learn.. commendable as that may be and not even by how many people you overtake on your journey towards fluency (quantative) lol! tongue wink

We are here to help each other and be here for each other in good and bad times and to share with you in your success. so Congatulations and keep on learning!

Thank you for appreciating us all at SpanishDict it really is an amazing place to learn grin

¡Excelente! Just don't go so fast you burn out. Slow and steady wins the race. If you stick with it you'll spend a lifetime learning Spanish, so enjoy the journey. Do everything you can to practice - read newspapers, magazines, books (the Spanish translations of the ones you've already read in English are great practice). Listen to Slow News In Spanish on your iPod (google it. It's a great learning tool). Above all, find someone to talk to in person. That's what it's all about.

Buena suerte.

You are right on the spot with everything you've said, I just wanted to show my appreciation for helping me understand many things I've asked, or have seen other people ask.

I will add this, something I thought of while making some sweet/sour sauce.

"It takes a village to raise a child"

(Or a community of people to help eachother in learning things)
