Alguien puede ayudarme no entiendo esta ultima oracion: "The Spanish brought with them to the New World many young men who were experienced with cattle and horses. They were to evolve into the modern-day cowboy. "Los españoles llevaron consigo muchos hombres jóvenes, quienes tenían experiencia en ganado y caballos, al nuevo mundo."... evolucionar ....???? gracias

Es decir "cambiarse a..."; "volverse a..."; "llegar a ser.."
Ellos llegarían a ser los vaqueros modernos.
Ellos se volverían el vaquero moderno.
Algo así.
