There is a game called "pool" which is played on a billiards table. How do you say "Let's play a game of pool"? Or, "Let's shoot a game of pool"?

billar (billiards)

billar americano=pool

I see definitions like that and then wonder why people say americano doesn't refer specifically to (U.S. of America) .

billar ruso=snooker

jugar al billar americano

juguemos al billar americano

al billar americano ... the americano most likely is to distinguish between "snooker" i.e., "English Pool" and a very different game (and equipment, too!) played in the US (and elsewhere, including England). Snooker is played in US, too ... - ElGringoBueno, Aug 6, 2013
