Lesson 3.5 ligas de goma vs goma

Hi, In lesson 3.5 the video calls rubber bands "ligas de goma" but the exercises call them "goma".

In MX "goma" usually refers to an eraser. Can it also mean rubber band?

Thanks!

sometimes context provides enough information to know that when you say just goma you mean liga de goma. You could also say liga to convey the same meaning in that context.

Likewise, goma can refer to different things accoding to a given context.

eraser is goma de borrar. Tire is neumático o simplemente goma para automóvil. If you´re in a classroom and someone asks for una goma, you obviously know what s/he`s talking about.
