Dear Everyone on the Forum,

Here is the note that I just received from Jen's mom. You can only guess what all of your love and support means to her.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the sincere expressions of your own hearts. You have all become Jen's family, and she loves you more than you will ever know.

The note:

The most beautiful robe arrived today!! As I unpacked it and showed it to Jen her face became more and more astounded. I read some of the messages to her but I had to stop because I couldn't see through the tears. Jen was really moved by the kindness of everyone at SD. The tears exhausted her so she couldn't tell me what she wanted to say to all her friends but I'm sure she will have a message for them later. Thank you - the gift was priceless and so are you.

Janine smile

Great news: I have just spoken to Jenny!!

She was very weak but she was determined to say something to all of you so I talked to her for 5 minutes. She was so exhausted by then that I had to hang up, but it was so good to hear her talk .

She said she has not seen all the phrases yet, her mum read some to her but then she went "all gooey", as she said, and could not go on reading, too many tears. red face

She also said it was such a lovely robe and that she was so excited about it. And I assured her nobody here was going to forget her, however long took her to come back to us.

I also told her I had actually been to an osteopath to see what the treatment was all about, and she laughed a lot when I told her this guy almost killed me! smirk jejeje

Anyway, I am always so happy to hear her laugh and I read Vaanz's sentence on this thread to her and we both almost cried.

She will have to do a lot of reading when she comes back...and be assured, she will come back. Nobody is as determined as our Jenny!

Oh, she also thanked me for changing her name back to Jen on Cathy's thread for the robe, jeje, as she actually does not like Jenny so muchraspberry

And her parents were sitting in the background listening to my babbling....we sometimes seem to forget her father altogether and her brother, but really we don't, we know it is hard on everybody there! Oh, and Janine , her mum, is a school teacher and goes to work every day!

Anyway, Jenny was ever so happy and sounded weak but happy, that was so good to hearsmile

Thanks for posting this.

Speaking as a mother of a child who has had significant health challenges, there are no words to convey what it means when other people shower our children with love and support.

Any major challenge in life is a bit like running a marathon...when the diagnosis is first given, there are tons of onlookers cheering on the challenged person and the family. But, of course, the bulk of the race is run alone, and this is a reality of everyone's life. But what wonderful joy when people step in and offer such an outpouring of love and support!

Spanishdict, you are great. And Echoline, thank you for setting this whole thing in motion.

It's an example of doing unto others as we would have them do unto us.

I'm happy to hear that Jen is happy.

Even though, she is far away from here and I may never see her, all I can think of now is 'Get well soon Jen'

There is much talk of 'online communities. " I never really imagined how a community could be created on the network by people around the world.

Through this act of kindness I have felt a strong sense of community here -- and I have been blessed by it.

Se hablan mucho de "comunidades en linea." Nunca imaginé realmente como una comunidad se puedan crear en el red por gente rodondo el mundo.

Yes, the news also brought tears to me eyes, too ... they are still there as I write this note grin It is soooooooo wonderful to hear of the response from Jen's mum in appreciation of all our messages of love but above all the fantastic and painstaking (detailed)time and effort ( work) that you, Cathy, have invested into making the robe and imprinting all our messges onto it !!! grin

What else can I say, but Hallelujah grin grin smile grin

P.S. I really hope, trust and pray that this gift of ours sent in Love will so touch Jen that it will by the Grace of God facilitate her speeedy recovery grin

Dear Friends,

I am humbled by your thanks. It really was a very small thing for me to do in the scope of things. I have been paid back a thousand-fold by your acceptance of my gift.

Unlike Gekkosan, I am not too macho to cry, so I'll admit that you folks have made me cry.

Thank you.

cathy. (Echoline)

Hi Cathy, This is truly a great day. I am sure that this is going to be a big part of Jen's continuing to get better. Thank you so much for bringing this wonderful idea to us. It is a great day here at SD, at Jen"s house and each of our own homes. Let us all continue to have Jen in our thoughts. Thank you, Cathy. You are in mine, as well.
