Cuales son las diferencias entre la alcoba, el dormitorio, la habitación, y el cuarto.
I was wondering if it is cultural differences, if they imply something else, or if they are used to mean different situations.

I agree with the last answer, only fyi in Mexico we use recámara for bedroom too.
Quite a bit of it is regional. I'd say that in many places habitación quite often refers to a hotel room type bedroom. Cuarto is often used as a generic term for a room. I don't hear alcoba very often, except on TV shows from Spain. Here in SoCal dormitorio is the word of choice for bedroom, which means that's probably what they use a lot in Mexico. But I've heard all of those words used to mean bedroom.
