When someone stays too long out in the sun we have a saying I became a crispy critter when I sunbathed too long. I would also like to see how you would translate that sentence, por favor.

Cute phrase! I can't find an equivalent... perhaps "me he puesto como un cangrejo" if my skin tends to red tones and "me cogió el sol mucho, me he puesto muy morena" if the colour looks like tan.

Oh I like the cangrejo (sounds like what used to happen to me!) - margaretbl, Sep 28, 2010
Well heck, I guess you can't use bicho or desmemuzable since as you say it will not translate correctly. Your sentence sounds about as close as one can get, I like it. - foxluv, Sep 28, 2010

Me puse como una langosta por estar tanto tiempo al sol.

(I became like a lobster -red- due to being out in ths sun for so long)

Hi Fox, this is the kind of thing that can only be translated by using another 'dicho' as you probably have surmised it does not translate directly very well. It sounds more like something crunchy to eat if you try. (Or a crunchy bug). I am interested to see if someone can come up with a saying - myself I would go with something like bien quemado.
