I am not sure if I will successfully get this picture to work as I have never done this before, and I don't know if this topic has already been done, but:

The Game: Name a city that has a **Spanish meaning separate from its use as a name**

Put in a picture of the meaning and the English meaning

I think it always easier to learn new words if you already know them.

A- Alameda, California

You spelled it "seperate." The correct spelling is "separate." It's a common mistake. I fixed it. - JoyceM, Sep 28, 2010
I like this one. Having lived in southern and mid-coastal California, I have many names. - Leeh, Sep 30, 2010
JoyceM- thanks, English may be my first language, but I don't think my English teachers ever thought I was good at it - Stadt, Sep 30, 2010

Didn't know that, being from Tucson. Thanks. - simpevets, Sep 30, 2010
I did not know this one either. Shows how close to a Spanish word one can live and not know it. - Leeh, Oct 1, 2010
That's why I thought this would be a good exercise, you already know the words, you just have to figure out what they mean - Stadt, Oct 1, 2010
You are right. Looking at a map of Calif, there are probably many hundreds of Spanish names. - Leeh, Oct 1, 2010
