Welcome to SpanishDict, Rachael.

Well, first change it to plural in English. You would say, "The families are large."

Now, look in your book and see how plural nouns are made in Spanish.

Then look at how plural adjectives are made. Then you will know the endings to put on the words "families" and "large".

Then look at the conjugation of the verb, ser. Which would you use to describe plural (the families= they are)

Now put it all together and you have your answer.

You can also look in the reference section under the More tab here to find these rules that you are looking for.

When you have figured it out, type the sentence in the translator and see if you came up with the right answer.

We hope you keep visiting here to learn Spanish. We will not do your homework for you, but we will put you on the right track and will check your work once you've done it yourself.

Welcome to the forum! If you want to have a try at this sentence, there are plenty of people on here who will correct and support your work, but generally they won't do the 'work' for you (in case it's homework... not saying it is in this case though) smile. If you want to have a try, I'm happy to help you out! Here's a hint: the first thing to change will be the noun (familia), then every other word in this sentence will also change to 'fit' the noun.

p.s. the administrators are pretty strict about everybody using proper punctuation and full sentences on here- just giving you a heads up. wink

Las familias son grandes.

Change the article and subject to plural (las familias). Change the verb ser to the plural form (son). Change the adjective to plural to reflect the plural subject (grandes).
