Welcome to Spanish Dict!

Do you mean voy a?

Voy means I go, and a generally means to.

So that then means "I go to..."

But of course that's not complete so all you have to do is add the destination!

Por ejemplo (for example): Voy a la escuela. (I go to the school.)

Please note that in Spanish, the present tense of ir (to go) can be used to say i'm going.... For example someone might say me voy ahora to say I'm leaving now.

I'm not an expert on this, so if anyone else has a better explanation please share it!

Very Good (Clear and accurate ) explanation :) except that 'irse' (not ir) is the verb used to say I am leaving eg me voy ahora it is reflexive :) Hope this helps you :) - FELIZ77, Sep 27, 2010
(wheras: voy al banco = I am going to the bank) - FELIZ77, Sep 27, 2010

voy a + verb infinitive

I am going to.....verb (refers to future time)

Voy a hacer mis deberes. I am going to do my homework. (later in time)
