Well, to be more specific, if you are talking about the verb comprar (to buy), then compro is the first person singular indicative present tense, and compra is the third person singular present tense. Of course, if you're talking about the noun la compra, that is the purchase itself. Look here for the complete conjugation of comprar.

comprar is 'to shop', or shopping. Compra is the third person form of comprar I believe. Someone might have a better answer than I.

Compro is 'I buy (something)'

I think this is correct.

You're right. Compra = 3rd person singular - he/she/it buys. It can also be 2nd person singular formal - You buy. Compro is 1st person singular - I buy. Compra can also be a noun meaning "purchase", as in something you buy. - KevinB, Sep 24, 2010

Yes, you are nearly right! "Compra" is a noun. "La compra que hiciste es muy buena" "compro" is the verb, the conjugation of the 1st person, "yo compro un jean" and it belongs to the verb " comprar" I hope this can help you
