Yes. The names of things are generally proper nouns. A good clue is that in English we almost always capitalize proper nouns, like the days of the week and the months of the year.

Yes 'February' is a proper noun because it is the name of the month. A proper noun identifies a specific (oftentimes unique) entity. February is a specific month, and no other months are named February. Likewise, you are Jortosar, a specific person - and there is no other you.

The way I understand it, the months are named after Greek/Roman gods. In Spanish, the names of months are not capitalized so as not to acknowledge the pagan deities.

Some of the months arise from the names of Roman gods and others are related to numbers - December was the tenth month in the Roman calendar, for instance, and November the niinth. Spanish doesn't capitalize names of months or days. - revmaf, Sep 24, 2010

July and August are named after Julius and Augustus. Romans, but not gods. Spanish doesn't capitalize the names of weekdays, or of languages, etc. They just don't capitalize as much as English. I don't think it has to do with gods. - KevinB, Sep 24, 2010
September = 7, October = 8, November = 9, December = 10. Adding July and August as the new 7th and 8th months screwed that up. - KevinB, Sep 24, 2010
