Skype skype!

Question

¿Alguien quiere hablar conmigo por skype? Por fin tengo un computador que no es anciano, así que quiero usar mi cámara, microfono, lo que sea para practicar español. No consigo mucha practica en vida diaria, desafortunadamente. My gustaría charlar con gente que hablen español, no tienen que ser nativos necesariamente, pero preferería que me puedan corregir. Si alguien esta interesado, envíame un mensaje para que podamos hablar!

Does anybody want to chat by skype? I'm just looking to use all the stuff I have now that I finally have a computer that wouldn't be classified as a fossil =). You don't necessarily have to be native, but I would prefer if you had a level that you could correct me, because that's what I need the most. I only have a few months before I go back to Costa Rica and I need my Spanish to be super awesome by then.

Are you aware of the Skype chats that they regularly have here? I don't believe that they use video feed in them, however. I have never heard them mention that a web camera is suggested for the chats (just a headset). Too bad really, because it is a lot easier to distinguish dialog if you can see the person's facial muscles/lip movment.

Anyway, I would suggest that you move this thread into the Hablemos category. (but since you posted it in vocabulary/grammar....Si alguien esté interesado, however, I seem to recall that the present subjunctive is not used in if clauses)

Cool thanks for the tip, I get confused with the if clauses sometimes that link helped clear it up.. Yeah I'm aware of it, I emailed Heidita to get in on it but I figured I'd post something else too. Just trying to make use of my new toys =) lol...Hmm I don't even know how to post things in different sections I'm so ignorant half the time...

As Quentin suggested, we (or they when they won't let me participate) don't use the video. Based on earlier experience with TokBox, that doesn't mean that you can't use the the video, just that if you do others will see you but you won't be able to see them because the others will not have/use video.

So far we've always done it with voice only. Some, no doubt, are bashful and Heidita, no doubt, would require exorbitant compensation for being "on camera".

For accent marks go to this website and follow the directions...
Accent Marks in Spanish
