I wonder what the taste of caramelo is here, our dictionary lists a lot of definitions and never really says much but "something sweet" I wonder if it's like molasses on ham? I don't get it, it's breakfast.. Gracias.

I'm not a cook nor even a food afficianado. Your question caught my eye because I like cooked ham, but, not so much the pressed ham varieties. I did a "Google" using the term "candied ham" and here is what I found ----> Candied Ham.

I don't know if it's what you're looking for, but, looking over the list of URLs will keep you busy until someone who is really in the know can give you a better, more specific answer.

I'd guess brown sugar glaze. Or honey, as has already been suggested.
