Typically the coastal cleanup is done along the shoreline but our dive club has been cleaning up what others cannot see for many years. Here you can see the variety of things discarded in our freshwater lakes and waterways. This is the water we drink!
By the way, the bear is still in our back yard.![]()
I live in the Bahamas, and this Friday we are having a coastal clean-up. We don't do ours underwater - but we walk along the coastline and pick up as much garbage as we can. There is a prize for who ever collects the most.
The numbers are in Bud Lite is the choice of Portsmouth, NH fishermen!

More rubbish from the ocean.
Yes, the boat is trash from the bottom.

Thanks for sharing this information Yesero. I had not heard about this before. I do live about an hour (mas o menos) from the Jersey/NY shores. Perhaps it is advertised a bit more near the coast. Then again, maybe I never paid attention before. ![]()
If I'm not hanging out in the big city, my favorite place to be is the beach. It always saddens me when I see trash and debris along the shore line.
Hopefully, next year I can do something to become more involved!!

I think any waterway is susceptible to this. People lose their object permanence when something sinks below the surface..
Did you hear about the pile of trash behind the Seven Gorges Dam in China with the recent flooding?
What a great work Gary!! Way to go! By the way this creature says, "Thank you"
