you can get a lot of jobs by knowing spanish you could be a spanish teacher or give spanish lessons
There are a lot of jobs that require some Spanish. In many towns and cities near the US/Mexico border, your chances of a job (even as a store clerk) are enhanced if you speak both languages. I have seen hundreds of signs "se habla español" in store windows in San Antonio, TX. I'm sure it's the same all across the southern border of the US.
For a while I worked in a hospital in San Diego. Some of my job performance ratings gave me kudos for being able to speak Spanish.
Besides all of that, reading Don Quixote in Spanish is more fun than reading it in English.
