What Latin word is “factory” derived?

I was looking through my Spanish textbook and noticed a table of Latin root words.

In the practice questions, this question was there. I do not know the answer, but could someone please tell me because I am intrigued by this....

I think the word for it is 'Facere'. Am I right?

You´re right in your assumption.

facere, that in Spanish became facer, and nowadays hacer (to make, to do)

1560, "estate manager's office," from M.Fr. factorie, from L.L. factorium "office for agents (factors)," also "oil press, mill," from L. factor "doer, maker." Sense of "building for making goods" is first attested 1618. Online Etymology Dictionary, © 2010 Douglas Harper Cite This Source
