I'm going to respond to this because it can be a little confusing...

Santo/a is a noun... "Es un santo" He's a saint

"Es una santa" She's a saint

They are saints... "Son santos"

San (male) and Santa (female) are titles

"San Juan (el) Bautista" St John the Baptist

"Santa Juana de Arco" St Joan of Arc
