Hizo frío = it was cold or it became cold. Hará frío = It will be cold or it is going to become cold.

I Spanish we don't say "It is cold", but -literally- "Makes cold" or "Does cold".

By the way, the correct spelling is "frío."

Welcome to the forum, Priya.

Please use proper capitalization, punctuation, and spelling in your posts.

I translated it using this website but the translation said 'cold did.' That doesn't make sense.

For your translation:

Hizo = the past tense of "hacer"

Frío = cold

"Hizo frío" = It was cold

Hizo frío = I was cold? hizo is third person/thing past tense not first person, anyway I don't believe that you meant that it must be a typo. - kenwilliams, Sep 19, 2010
Yes, thank you...It was a typo! - --Mariana--, Sep 19, 2010
