Does "la prensa" also refer to industrial presses?

I see that the word of the day, la prensa, can refer to a printing press. Is la prensa also used when referring to hydraulic or mechanical presses? I've been to a lot of factories in Mexico and never thought to ask the question since everyone I've dealt with speaks English.

That is called presa hidráulica.

It's very similar! But has a different meaning.

But I`m thinking that there are some industrial machines called "prensas". Designed for to apply high pressures. Maybe your question was refered to this!! - cogumela, Sep 16, 2010

Definitively yes, you got reason. I'm sorry!

Look at this, from RAE

Prensa: 1. f. Máquina que sirve para comprimir, cuya forma varía según los usos a que se aplica.

No "prensa" refers to the press (written), magazines particularly romance, and printing press.
