¡Hola Sashalong! You can use the charachters provided in the text box beneath this text box (next to the lower left hand corner of this field) or you can use the computers built in charachters by holding the ALT button down and typing a four number code:

á = Alt + 0225

é = Alt + 0233

í = Alt + 0237

ó = Alt + 0243

ú = Alt + 0250

ñ = Alt + 0241

ü = Alt + 0252

¡ = Alt + 0161

¿ Alt + 0191

I had no idea there was more than one code....your's works, too. The one above is one character shorter for the lower cases, punct. marks and É and Ñ - Echoline, Sep 16, 2010

If it is about the speed of your answering those questions, the only real option is to follow the steps in Marianne's link.

It is not difficult to do, and if you need help just send me a PM.

There are many ways to get to the characters, but none are as fast as having the keyboard installed.

I think I showed Echoline and Wansell the Alt codes ( you don't know how rewarding it is to see them recommending them!), and I still use them because of how many different computers I work from. It is real nice knowing how to get the accented letter I need when using someone else's machine but in a race for time ... when you are going for speed ...it is faster if you have activated the International keyboard already on your machine.

That's one way, but if you don't want to change your keyboard, you can also use the regular configuration along with this "cheat sheet"

First, press ALT then at the same time type the numbers below to get the corresponding letter/punctuation mark:

0193--Á

144--É

0205--Í

0211--Ó

0218--Ú

165--Ñ

160--á

130--é

161--í

162--ó

163--ú

164--ñ

0252--ü

168--¿

173--¡
