I want to write an article about new technologies but I'm not sure how translate "Information Technology" in the following context.

I want to say "It seems to me that nearly every day new products are advertised on television, especially in information technology."

I have translated it as the following:

Me parece que casi todos los días un nuevo producto se anuncia en la televisión, especialmente en tecnología de la información.

However my dictionary says use "informática" for information technology.

Also would the Spanish use the expression "in the field of information technology" or something similar?
