Packing Slip

Question

In the dictionary the definition of packing slip is listed as albarán. However, on the site it also says that it is a penninsular Spanish word which, to me, means that it may not be understood outside of Spain.

What a packing slip is (in the context that I am using) is a list of everything that is supposed to be in box that you received from a company after placing an order. For example, let's say that you ordered a cellphone. The packing slip might list a rechargeable battery, a protective case, a set of earphones, a users guide, a copy of the service agreement, and the phone itself.

So, I would think that the translation for Packing Slip would be something like Recibo del Enviado.

If albarán is recognized outside of Spain itself, then I will glady defer to this translation, however, if it is not, is my translation correct, or would there be a better way to translate it?

Never heard "albarán" in my hole life. Not used in Argentina.

For us it would be a "lista de empaque".

My professional dictionary gives "hoja de embalaje", but I'm sure there are regional differences such as "aviso de embarque" or "notificación de embarque" (bill of lading). You can probably mix and match some of these expressions.

If you're going to go for that expression, I'd use "recibo de envío", or "nota de entrega".

I think that Albarán is correct, but I live in the Penninsula.

In any case, you must say "recibo del envío" or "recibo de lo enviado"
