When asking a question, this site says to "put phrases to be translated in quotes." Therefore I assume that's what this person is asking for, although I could be wrong.

I'm only a beginning student myself, but as far as I know the translation would be, "¿Qué es la fecha de hoy?" (Exact translation: What is the date of today?)

Of course, you could also say simply, "¿Qué es la fecha?" (What is the date?)

If you are asking for a translation, it would be

¿Qué es la fecha hoy? or just ¿Qué es la fecha?
