Hi again, As a freshman, "rr" is quite discouraging! Any practising method that is helpful to me to vibrate the rr? Personal experience is highly valued.Thank you a million. Lance

This is something I just realized:

The reason that the "rr" is rolled is because it is pronounced as two "r's," one in each of two syllables.

This is true for "per-ro" and for "ar-roz."

The trick is to pronounce both "r's" and to do so in the soft Spanish way.

As with everything else, practice makes perfect. If you go to the Dictionary function on this website, you can click on the little speaker to hear a someone saying the word. In the privacy of your own home, you can click that symbol and repeat what you hear hundreds of times until you get it.

And in what "two" syllables does the 'r' of 'rueda fall? - samdie, Sep 14, 2010
The "r" that starts a word is another issue. - JoyceM, Sep 14, 2010
As in "rincon." My best advice is to listen to the the pronunciation a thousand times and repeat it every time. - JoyceM, Sep 14, 2010
