The Distinction Between 'Arrive' and 'Depart'

Question

What is the difference between llegar (llega) and salar (sale)?

Am I right in presuming that llega is to arrive, while sale is to depart?

¿A qué hora llega tu autobús? = At what hour does the bus arrive? ¿A qué hora sale su vuelo? = At what hour does the plane depart?

I learned it in Rosetta Stone, and couldn't find the definition of sale in the Spanish Dict (Salar means to salt).

I believe you mean the verb salir and that means to exit or leave. As in ¿a que hora sale el autobús?

You are completely correct in making that distinction between these two verbs:

Llegar is used to mean to arrive (Be careful not to confuse it with 'llevar': to carry, to wear, to take (away) )

Salir means: to leave, to depart, to go out
